Innovative technologies and renewed policies for achieving a Greener Defence
CeSI - Center for International Studies, in cooperation with the Finnish Institute of International Affairs (FIIA) and with the support of NATO’s Science for Peace and Security (SPS) Programme, and with the sponsorship of Fincantieri, is glad to invite you to the conference on “Innovative technologies and renewed policies for achieving a Greener Defence”, which will take place online on the 27th of October, 2021.
This conference is inserted in the frame of a project which, following the path undertaken by NATO and several national governments, aims at addressing the key aspects related to shaping a more sustainable Defence sector and elaborate on the way forward.
Indeed, at the 2021 NATO Summit, Allied Heads of State and Government endorsed NATO’s Climate Change and Security Action Plan, based on awareness, adaptation, mitigation and outreach, as part of the comprehensive effort by the Atlantic Alliance to better understand the impact on security of climate change and to adapt to the evolving scenario, introducing new green initiatives, best practises and technologies for the Member States’ Armed Forces.
The project consists of a two-days discussion, the first of which is open to the public.
The overall goal of the initiative is to facilitate a dialogue between highly professional experts on the innovative technologies and the new policies needed for achieving a Greener Defence.
The conference online on the 27th of October is divided in 3 tematic panels during which experts and representatives of the most important realities in terms of Green Defence will share their perspectives on the topic of the conference.
