International Conference on R&R comparation of practices between Kosovo and Italy
The International Conference jointly organized by CeSI (Centro Studi Internazionali) and KCSS (Kosovar Centre for Security Studies) is the final step of “Building Resilience: strengthening the capacities of Kosovan Institutions in the post-release phase of violent extremists”, a project that started in December 2021 and was financed by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The main objective of the project was to strengthen the capacities of the Kosovo Probation Services (KPS) in the management of radicalised individuals and former foreign fighters released on parole or probation. Specifically, the project team, composed by CeSI’s analysts and KCSS’ researchers, has worked together to identify the needs of the KPS in the field of rehabilitation and reintegration (R&R) of foreign fighters and to strengthen their capacities and competences. The results of this work were fundamental to elaborate a research report discussing both the Italian and Kosovan strategies in facing this type of challenges.
Therefore, the aim of the final conference, that will take place at Swiss Diamond Hotel, Pristina, on 20th September 2022, is to present and discuss the report produced by CeSI and KCSS, as well as to offer some fundamental insights and perspectives of PCVE experts working on topics such as terrorism, violent extremism and the R&R programmes in Western Balkans and Italy.
